Spanish DTT beats forecasts but faces MHP hurdle

The launch of digital terrestrial in Spain appears to have been the most successful yet in Europe, with retailers estimating that over one million set-top boxes were sold within a month of the platform's November 30 debut. But success may have come at a price. Nearly all set-top boxes sold were basic ones, which will make it hard for broadcasters and government to get advanced MHP-based interactive services into people's homes.
