Portugal Telecom chooses Sogecable

Portugal Telecom last week agreed a deal to launch a digital satellite-television platform next year using a technical platform provided by Spanish television group Sogecable. It is understood that die deal includes three elements: space segment (comprising transponders on the Hispasat satellite system), multiplex operation and channel play-out facilities. It also includes the use of the Nagravision conditional-access system of Swiss group Kudelski, used by Sogecables Digital Plus pay-television operation.
