摘要

Germany cable operator Unitymedia this week insisted that the sale of its pay-television subsidiary Arena was not a foregone conclusion after the division reported decent growth despite the loss of exclusive rights to the country's top football league. In the three months to September 30, Arena recorded its second successive profitable quarter, with revenues of € 91 million (£65.6 million) and Ebitda of € 15 million. This was despite the decision by Germany's federal cartel office, the Bundeskartellamt, to force Arena to sub-license rights to the Bundesliga to rival pay-television operator Premiere to alleviate competition concerns (NMMJuly 11, 2007).
