摘要

An attempt has been made in optimising a finite element model based on the ANSYS/LS-DYNAncode to analyse the impact loading response of a multi-layer sandwich structure with square corencells. A parametric study of single and two-layer sandwich structures along with the variation ofnthe number of cells is carried out in order to gain a better understanding of the relationshipnbetween the number of cells and the energy absorption capability of the structures. Attention hasnalso been paid to the accurate simulation of the folding mechanism of the square core cells. Thisnresearch can hence give a model of the impact loading response and the energy absorptionncapability of a multi-layer sandwich structure.
