Regional Geologic Tectonics of the Nansha Sea Area

摘要

Based on the data from multi-year comprehensive marine geological-geophysical investigations made in the Nansha sea area, the regional geophysical-field features, deep structures of the crust, basement nature and faulting tectonics are analysed and studied in the paper, and the faulting tectonics are divided into the three systems of normal fault, obduction fault and strike-slip fault, and there are 3 large regional massifs and 6 blocks. The 13 main large and medium-sized Cenozoic sedimentary basins superimposing on the crust of different types and basements or in different tectonic locations are characterized by large sediment thickness, multiple types and large scale, made up of several primary basins and serve as very important places for oil and gas accumulations.
