The calculative method of heat transfer coefficient between ice cover and water is analyzed considering the heat balance at ice cover bottom firstly. The heat transfer coefficient is calculated with the meteorological, oceanographic data and sea ice conditions measured on the JZ20-2 Oil/Gas Platform in the Bohai Sea during the winter of 1997/1998. From the results, it is Shown that the heat transfer coefficient is smaller in the freezing and melting periods, which is About 0.16×10~-3 and 0.04×10~-3 respectively.
