A&WMA presents the 2010 Richard Beatty Mellon Environmental Stewardship Award to Lester B. Lave, Ph.D.,rnthe Harry B. and James H. Higgins Professor of Economics and Finance, and Professor of Engineering and Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University.rnDr. Lave received a bachelor's of arts degree from Reed College and a Ph.D. from Harvard University. He has appointments in the Tepper School of Business, Carnegie Institute of Technology, and H. John Heinz II College; was elected to the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences; is a past president of the Society for Risk Analysis, and received their Distinguished Achievement Award; and has acted as a consultant to many organizations and government agencies, including the U.S. Department of Energy and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
