Behaviour of concrete with low-strength bricks as lightweight coarse aggregate

The quantity of masonry demolition waste is higher than that of concrete waste. A review shows that extensive studies have been made of recycled concrete aggregates with only limited studies on recycled brick aggregate. The objective of this paper is to investigate the sue of two types of low-strength bricks as lightweight coarse aggregate in concrete. After characterisation of recycled crick aggregates, a study of the relative influence of different parameters on the strength of concrete follows, adopting a five-factor, eight-run two-level fractional factorial experimental design.
