CAD models shoot the rapids to downstream applications

Well-designed CAD models can provide the grease for a smooth-running design machine. But throw an error into the CAD model and you're throwing a wrench into the machine. Recently developed software checks CAD models and identifies errors, so they're corrected quickly, preventing them from cropping up in downstream applications. Errors made early in design cycles and discovered later confuse those who find them and require time-consuming backtracking to correct.
