We here present another linear solution to the problem of attenuating free-surface multiples in towed-streamer data. The particularity of this solution is that it outputs receiver ghosts of primaries instead of primaries themselves. As in towed-streamer data, primaries and receiver ghosts of primaries are almost indistinguishable, outputting one or another is almost inconsequential for seismic imaging. However, for multiple attenuation, so outputting receiver ghosts of primaries instead of primaries can be useful for cases in which the field of predicted multiples data contains systematic errors which cannot be easily compensated for by the standard schemes for subtracting predicted multiples from the data. Such errors can be due to acquisition perturbations such as roughness of the sea surface, streamer feathering, etc.
