Ladies and Gentlemen, Fellows of the Society. I am pleased to present the Annual Report for 2007. Last year I stated that we faced two challenges in 2007. The first of these challenges was to generate more income from our facilities. The second was to embark on a programme of fund-raising. These two objectives have been largely met, the positive effects of which can be seen in the financial results for 2007, but it would still be fair to characterise our situation as a work-in-progress. On the income side, donations improved significantly during 2007, from a very low base, despite the fact that dedicated fund-raising will not actually commence until later in 2008. Almost half the sum of total donations in 2007 was attributable to one very generous donation for a cataloguing project. Income from subscriptions rose by 19% through a combination of the elections of new Fellows and an increase in subscription rates.
