This research was conducted to determine the effects of total suspended solids on the growth of blue-green algae, Oscillatoria sp. and Microcystis sp. which were isolated from pond-reared white leg shrimp, Litopenaeus vannamei (Boone, 1931) and cultured in laboratory at various concentrations of total suspended solids 0, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25; and 5 gram/liter without Oscillatoria sp. and Microcystis sp. Concentrations were analyzed throughout the 27-days experimental period. The results revealed that the growth of Oscillatoria decreased at total suspended solids exceeded 5.54+0.24 gram/liter, while the growth of Microcystis significantly decreased when total suspended solids more than 4.95+0.36 gram/liter.
