摘要

Conventional energy harvesters that are based on the linear resonance phenomenon, such as tuned cantilevers, often suffer from frequency bandwidth limitations and their extreme sensitivity to uncertainties. If system parameters, such as the excitation frequency, manufacturing tolerances, or ambient temperature, are altered slightly, the linear resonance condition may fail to be achieved, resulting in drastically reduced power output in a lightly damped harvester. These limitations of the so-called linear energy harvesters as well as the essential nonlinearities occasionally observed in these devices gave rise to research on nonlinear energy harvesting in the last few years.
