摘要

The authors are to be commended for a thorough study of erosion reduction. The experimental setup, however, needs more justification. The authors state that "They [bank-attached vanes] have been advocated for bank protection and habitat improvement." The structures advocated consist of rocks and/or logs on the side of channel, often keyed into the bed and banks. The experiments, however, consisted of a ridged triangular plate that was rigidly attached to a nonerodible bank.
