摘要

Martin Lux has written an excellent monograph on the housing sector in the Czech Republic putting housing development in that country into a comparative perspective. The first part of the book sets up the theoretical basis and methodological principles of the research. It covers a much broader area than a typical introduction; among other issues, it raises the question why states intervene in the housing sector, which—as I will highlight later—has influenced the basic approach of the book. In the second part of the book, the author compares the development of housing policy in a few selected transitional countries.
