Bangladesh issues tender for eight combat aircraft

Bangladesh's Directorate General of Defence Purchases (DGDP) has released a tender for eight multirole combat aircraft (MRCAs) for the country's air force, with an option of purchasing four additional aircraft. The fighters, which are to be procured in the financial year 2017/18, will be employed by the Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) to assist the country's army and navy in a number of roles, including air defence, anti-surface, counter-air, and maritime-air operations, the DGDP stated on its website on 28 February. Tender responses are due by 13 April.
