Strategic risks remain for UK's carrier strike plans, warns NAO

Unresolved technical issues could further delay the entry into service of the UK Royal Navy's new aircraft carrier, Queen Elizabeth, according to a report from the UK government's spending watchdog. In its 'Delivering Carrier Strike' report, the National Audit Office (NAO) said the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) had made "good progress" with bringing Queen Elizabeth, as well as its embarked aircraft and supporting infrastructure, into service by 2020, but that it "faces a number of strategic risks" that could have "a significant impact on delivery".
