India successfully test-fires Agni V ballistic missile in operational configuration

India has test-fired its indigenously developed, nuclear-capable Agni V ballistic missile in its operational configuration to a range of around 5,000 km. "We have successfully launched [the] nuclear-capable ballistic missile Agni V today," Indian Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman was quoted by the Asian News International news agency as saying soon after the missile was launched on 18 January.
