Uprating the interconnector

Growing power demand in India's Bangalore region has seen the country's tranmission operator order an increase in capacity for the East-South HVDC link [see IPG April 2003]. In early 2003, Siemens Power Transmission and Distribution (PTD) successfully completed the HVDC East-South Interconnector, India's largest power transmission project.
