A severe lack of rainfall has hampered output at Kenya's hydropower plant. To keep the electricity supply flowing, the utility KenGen has turned to a huge temporary power plant, Provided by Aggreko. The persistent drought in Kenya is causing severe power shortages across the nation as around 74 per cent of Kenya's electricity is generated by hydropower in the Tana River basin and in the Turkwei River gorge.
