Sorting out Europe's gas markets is one of the troublesome tasks currently facing EC leaders. Not the most enjoyable of jobs, certainly one procrastinated over - akin to clearing the loft on a wet Sunday afternoon (and just as messy). The problem with the gas market is three-fold: pricing and competition are the two main issues. Together they have the greatest influence on the third obstacle: security of supply.
