A new submarine interconnection for the Arabian Gulf

In 1981, the leaders of the United Arab Emirates, State of Bahrain, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Sultanate of Oman, State of Qatar and State of Kuwait formed the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) to establish areas of co-ordination, integration and inter-connection between the six member states across a broad range of social and economic activities.
