A 32MW power plant, originally located in Ghana has been dismantled and transported to neighbouring Benin. Then the power plant was split into three smaller stations. During the late-1990s, an independent power producer (IPP) contract was awarded to the French-based energy company SIIF Energies by the Ministry of Mine and Energy of Ghana (MOME) for a 32MW power plant in Takoradi, Ghana.
