The Russian and Indian partners of BrahMos Aerospace have come together to seek clearance for a mini-BrahMos cruise missile and to have funds for the same. Dr.Sudhir Kumar Mishra, CEO & Managing Director for BrahMos Aerospace, informed Show Daily that two will be carried under the wings of Tejas, or in the torpedo tube of a submarine or the Fifth Generation Fighter Aircraft. While the Sukhoi Su-30 Mkl is able to carry only a single BrahMos missile, it will be able to carry three of the mini BrahMos NG. The small cruise missile, of about 1,400 kg only, will take about3-5 years to develop. The BrahMos missile mock-up, carried beneath the Su- 30 MKI, had been flown by Wing Cmdr Prashant Nair. Interestingly, in yesterday's flying display, Dr. Mishra said, he had very ably demonstrated an early-vintage de Havilland Tiger Moth biplane.
