Some of the limitations in the original SPV (solar photovoltaic) Sprayer Provided by MEDA, Pune are removed in the modified SPV Sprayer. This Ultra Low Volume (ULV) type sprayer was powered by 5 W (Maximum Capacity) solar photovoltaic module and tested on Chilli crop, for its applicability in the field. It is found more efficient and handy, and requires less amount of insecticide for spraying. The sprayer rotating speed increases as the solar insolation increases. The minimum requirement of the solar insolation should be more than 30,000 Lux for proper application of insecticides and pesticides. Experimental trials showed that the sprayer can be used for spraying kitchen gardens, nurseries, green house plots, demonstration plots and small land holdings.
