摘要

In order to increase crop production in keeping with the population growth, more area of land needs to be brought under irrigation. This is possible only by introducing the sprinkler and drip irrigation systems in the coming years, replacing surface methods for certain crops and certain locations. The main aim of this project is to irrigate crop accurately so that crop can give maximum yield in minimum water. We have designed a PC based drip irrigation system for groundnut plant. Gypsum resistive moisture sensors are used for sensing moisture in the soil. Based on the set points such as wilting point (minimum water requirement of crop) and maximum water requirement of crop, the total irrigation system is controlled automatically by using computer.
