The design of a composite-heated quartz crystal resonator for OCXOnapplications is described. A mathematical model of the transientnprocesses in the device is presented and is used to identify thenphysical and electrical parameters of the resonator providing optimizednwarm-up time, frequency stability, and power consumption. A prototypenresonator exhibiting a warm-up time of 15 s, frequency versusntemperature stability better than 3×10-8, and heatingncurrent of about 5 mA is described
