A modified (3,1) drive hydrophone design described here utilizesnpolarized piezopolymer films taut in the stretch direction by a reformednstructural construction. It mainly consists of two opposed polymer filmsnattached to a phosphor bronze diaphragm through a perspex structure.nEnhancement in sensitivity is achieved, by connecting the filmsnelectrically in series thereby adding up the voltages developed acrossnthem due to a given acoustic pressure. The response of the hydrophonenfor individual films and for their series combination, are measured fromn300 Hz to 4 kHz
