摘要

Ultrasound elasticity imaging is a promising method that mayneventually allow early detection of many tissue pathologies. However,nbefore elasticity imaging can be applied to its numerous potentialnclinical applications, the quantitative accuracy of tissue elasticitynmeasurements must be established. Simple 1-D ultrasound elasticitynmeasurements were performed on muscle and liver and compared withnindependent and established mechanical measurements to investigate bothnthe accuracy and consistency of ultrasound elasticity measurements. Innaddition, some interesting properties of soft tissue and aspects of thenmeasurement process which should be considered in elasticitynmeasurements are discussed
