摘要

A college education is supposed to teach one how to think, and it can be a very fructuous investment in terms of time and money if it is used to fortify critical-thinking and reasoning skills. We may have chosen electrical engineering (EE) as our major in college because we thought the droid R2-D2 from Star Wars was cool or because we love soldering up our own ham radios. Whatever the reason, after we graduate we want to become competent and astute electrical engineers, right? Some of us might become that engineer by terminating our studies at the bachelor''s level and going into the workplace armed with a mosaic of skills acquired over four (or five or six…) years.
