HUD Awards Project Funds for Section 202, Section 811 Programs

HUD has awarded $710 million in capital advances and five-year rental subsidies for Section 202 and Section 811 projects across the country to help expand the supply of housing for very-low-income elderly and disabled persons. Among the Section 202 projects is a four-story building in Daly City, Calif., which received a $5 million capital advance and $1.1 million rental subsidy for 39 one-bedroom units and a manager's unit. Sponsored by the Broadmoor Presbyterian Church, the project is in a dense urban setting close to shopping and a regional Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) station.
