Excluding Housing Allowance from Income Would Expand Servicemember Eligibility for Rental Aid, GAO Says

The percentage of military servicemembers eligible for federal rental housing programs, including the low-income housing tax credit program, would substantially increase if the basic allowance for housing (BAH) is excluded from income, a report from the Government Accountability Office (GAO) says.
