In this monograph, we have focused on relationships and analogies between general principles, as well as mathematical formalisms, that are common to both information theory and statistical physics. The emphasis was not merely on the analogies themselves, which may be interesting on their own right, but more importantly, also on new insights and analysis tools that the physical perspectives may contribute to problems in information theory.
