摘要

During barefoot walking and running, the midfoot made a significant contribution to the power generated by the foot and ankle during propulsion. Shoes led to a substantial reduction in midfoot power generation, which was due to a reduction in angular velocity, as the plantarflexion moment was unchanged. The reduction in angular velocity was due to a reduction in midfoot sagittal plane range of motion during propulsion of children's shod gait. Children therefore appear to partially compensate for a reduction in midfoot power during shod gait by increasing their ankle power generation.
