Sporty's announced that its 2015 sweepstakes giveaway airplane will be a repeat of this year's - a Van's RV-12 factory-built LSA. The beautifully designed two-seat, side-by-side, all-metal airplane is powered by a 100-horsepower Rotax 912ULS engine, which can run on either 100LL or auto fuel. And you don't need a hangar to store the RV-12. With two people, the wings can be removed in about five minutes, allowing for easy transport and storage. Besides the clever design features, Sporty's chose the RV-12 for its performance capabilities, which are remarkable considering the strict weight limitations of the LSA category. "The airplane can carry two 210-pound passengers, 20 gallons of fuel and 50 pounds of baggage," said Sporty's President Michael Wolf. "Plus, it simply is a joy to fly."
