Shenzhen - the southernmost city of China - is renowned for its prosperity as well as its blooming economy in Communist China, writes Mr Peter Cheung, Director of Hong Kong Fire Services. Being one of the Special Economic Regions of China, the past ten years have seen rapid development in all aspects of this city, which is close to Hong Kong. What was predominantly farm land turned into a metropolis, with skyscrapers proliferating throughout the province. Thousands of investors from all over the world have flocked to this part of China, making it comparable to other major cities in Asia.
