Manhattan, Kan., also known as The Little Apple, needed two new fire stations to help significantly improve response times to the city's growing west side. To achieve their goal, the city commissioned Action Pact Design and Stewart-Cooper-Newell Architects to design sister-stations that would accommodate this previously under-served area. Station No. 5 is a two-bay station designed to allow for expansion of the apparatus bays and bunk rooms in the future.
