Fontana Fire Station No. 71

Fire Station No. 71 is a new 18,302-square-foot facility built by the cty of Fontana for the Fontana Fire District/SBCFD. One of the unique aspects of the project was that the new station had to be built around and incorporate the original station, which was built in 1921 and had suffered through a number of additions. The site is located adjacent to city hall and is part of a number of improvements to the overall civic center. The new station is designed to accommodate 12 firefighters in an individual dormitory setting. Other station features include a four-bay, double-deep apparatus room, administrative offices, kitchen, dining room, dayroom, physical training room, locker room, and the various support spaces required for a facility of this type.
