With the impending delivery to Qatar Gas of the 266,000m~3 Q-Max LNG leviathans next year, combined with a lack of terminal facilities that can accommodate these ships, the commercial feasibility of ship-to-ship transfer of LNG looks an increasingly promising prospect. With some transfers already achieved, Solutions considers the potential problems ahead.
