Manufactured in South Korea under licence from Wartsila Corporation, the world's first 14-cylinder in-line engine to be brought into operation has now been in service for several months powering the new behemoth of the container trades, the Emma Maersk. Hitherto, the maximum size of two-stroke marine diesel has been in 12-cylinder configuration.
