Furuno Makes Foray Into Vsat

Navigation equipment specialist Furuno has branched out into the marine communications market with a new Ku-band VSAT service. The SafeComNet service will be the first global roaming service for Ku-band VSAT communications since the withdrawal of the shortlived Connexion by Boeing in early 2006. Furuno has teamed up with satellite operators Eutelsat and SpeedCast to offer the service.
