Ohio Air Quality Research Online Database and Symposium

Web technology was applied effectively in the delopment of the online database for air pollution research in Ohio, and for organizing the symposium on air pollution. Information about Ohio's researchers and their research projects were collected from various sources and posted on a Web site. Government agencies, private organizations, and academic institutions actively involved in air pollution research and related fields were also included in the database. The symposium included technical paper presentations, poster presentations, and panel discussions. Both these activities have helped enhance interaction among researchers working in the field of air pollution in Ohio. With the success of the 2002 Symposium, efforts are underway to turn this into an annual event. It is hoped that this project would promote similar applications in other areas of research.
