For centuries Europe's animals have been fed on all sorts of waste products. Until recently not many questions were asked about it. Then along came BSE in Britain. Then came dioxins in Belgium and more recently, sewage sludge in France. Now, suddenly, as we enter a new century, European consumers are beginning to question what does go into animal feed and what the implications are for human health. Tina Garrity reports.
