Setting the agenda

What should inform the agenda of the environmental health profession in the immediate future? David Chambers, Pauline Forrester and Emma Williams look at the options. The future agenda, certainly the governmental agenda, will focus primarily on issues linked to the relationships between social inclusion and community under the umbrella of sustainable community. These contemporary concepts have arguably emerged as an extension of 1990s' sustainability. The concept of sustainability as it stands is invariably taken to more narrowly refer to sustainable development.
