摘要

The Transcaucasian massif is located between the Greater and Lesser Caucasus. According to the modern tectonic division, the massif is considered as the Black Sea-Transcaucasian terrane. The Dzirula uplift within the terrane occupies about 1200 km~2 in area and represents the largest, most complex and interesting exposure. It includes rocks of gneiss-migmatite complex of controversial age and genesis (gneissic quartz diorites, migmatites, crystalline schists, tonalites, phyllites, and ophiolite fragments). These rocks are cut by numerous bodies of variable thickness (Paleozoic microcline granites and Mesozoic hybrid gabbroids and granitoids).
