摘要

The study of modern ore-bearing systems in mid-oceanic ridges is important for the reconstruction of the geological conditions and geochemical processes responsible for the formation of complex ore deposits. By now, numerous manifestations of intense hydrothermal activity and recent ore formation have been discovered in the Mid-Atlantic Ridge (MAR). The relatively well-studied MAR segment (11°-41° N) incorporates more than 10 hydrothermal fields with high-temperature springs (black smokers), which provide large quantities of ore material. In addition, this segment includes many areas with anomalous physicochemical properties of bottom water, suggesting hydrothermal activity. The MAR region located south of 11°-12° N has so far been insufficiently studied. Therefore, the localization of discharge areas of hydrothermal fluids and the study of geostructural characteristics of convective ore-forming systems continue to be crucial tasks.
