Origin of the Diamond- and Coesite-Bearing Metamorphic Complexes

The problem of the origin of the diamond- and coes-ite-bearing metamorphic complexes is of great scientific interest and has been widely discussed in the literature. Ultra-high pressure (UHP) metamorphic complexes are known from across the globe: the Kokchetav Massif (northern Kazakhstan), the Dabie Shan area (eastern China), the Caledonides (North Europe), and the Alpine-Himalayan and North African foldbelts. Among them, the diamondiferous Kokchetav metamorphic massif has been studied most thoroughly.
