摘要

Lacustrine sediments represent unique archives retaining records of environmental changes in the past. This is especially true for small shallow lakes that did not freeze during glacial periods and existed for a long time as isolated systems. The thick layer of lacustrine organic sediments accumulated in them has preserved records of environmental changes with a high time resolution for the past tens of thousand of years. Sediments of such lakes are reliably dated by the AMS ~(14)C method virtually with any accuracy.
