The Abrasion Rate of Coarse-Clastic Material in the Murmansk Littoral Zone

Abrasion is one of the key factors in the formation of coastal topography, as well as one of the basic sources of sedimentary material input to a sedimentation basin. All researchers recognize that the abrasion rate on the Murmansk coast of Kola Peninsula is very low. The abrasion rate on the Murmansk littoral zone was estimated for the first time by Zenkovich based on a study of abrasion landforms. Tarasov performed the first and, probably, the only experimental study of the abrasion of coarse-clastic material (CCM) on the Murmansk littoral zone.
