摘要

The model of multicomponent carbonatite (carbonate-silicate) parental melts responsible for the formation of the prevalent mass of natural diamond in the Earth's mantle is substantiated by experimental criteria of nucleation of the diamond phase and syngenesis of diamond and growth inclusions therein . This model provides consistent summarization of mineral-ogical data on the chemical and phase compositions of syngenetic inclusions in diamond. The major carbonate and silicate components in the composition of multicomponent parental medium are combined with minor (trace) components, which can be soluble in carbonate-silicate melts (oxides, phosphates, chlorides, carbon dioxide, and water) or insoluble in these melts (sulfides, metals, and carbides).
